Product Manager


Calipsa is one of London’s fastest-growing deep learning technology companies. Our mission is to make the world a safer place by helping to detect and prevent crime. Calipsa’s AI platform analyses CCTV video in real-time to assess risk, filter out false alarms and automatically notify alarm monitoring services. Our current focus is on detecting burglary and theft and we monitor sites across construction, logistics, industrial, agricultural, retail and residential sectors in 7 different countries. We are funded by top investors such as LocalGlobe, Global Founders Capital, Entrepreneur First and Horizon Ventures.

Founded four years ago, we are currently going through a period of significant growth and are looking for a talented Product Manager to contribute to our journey.

Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager with a proven track record working in successful scale-up startups.

You will have ownership of the entire product development lifecycle from planning to execution, in support of organisational strategy and objectives. As a result, you will be expected to implement processes to gather customer feedback, build insightful product metrics, prioritise feature enhancements, build a roadmap for the evolution of the product, define product specifications, oversee product development, and manage feature releases. 

Being able to work successfully with both the engineering and the customer-facing sides of the company will be key to building the right processes to understand customers’ problems and finding innovative solutions to solve them. Calipsa follows an agile approach when delivering features, therefore you will be experienced in those concepts and expected to work as a product owner in a Scrum environment.

You will initially be managing a very talented Product Designer and a QA team. However, as a company grows you will be expected to expand the team to build a world-class product operation.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, you will work both internally with cross-functional teams to enable an efficient product creation process and also externally with customers to understand their problems.
  • Able to create an innovative culture where people build new creative work in order to solve customer problems.
  • Proven ability to manage and analyse data to derive meaningful insights and quickly diagnose and correct any problems
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills with a proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, and rapid changes
  • Previous exposure to engineering processes, you will have a solid understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development since you will plan both customer-facing features but also internal technical refactorisation.
