Cougar Monitoring has become the latest UK monitoring station to deploy Calipsa’s False Alarm Filtering Platform as a solution to nuisance video alarms.

Established in 1996, Cougar Monitoring Ltd is one of the UK’s premier security companies, holding number of nationally recognised accreditations from bodies such as the NSI and Security Industry Authority.

They offer a fully comprehensive range of monitoring and response services including; CCTV monitoring, Intruder and Fire Alarm monitoring, together with manned security guarding. From their state of the art alarm receiving and monitoring centre, which deals with over a million alarm systems and video feeds per annum, Cougar strive to provide their clients with innovative and inclusive security solutions and invest heavily in cutting edge technology with the ability to enhance the service they offer.

Calipsa’s False Alarm Filtering Platform represents Cougar’s latest investment into enhancing their monitoring efficiency and service.

Calipsa's cloud-based False Alarm Filtering Platform is a unique video analytics solution that  uses deep learning technology to filter out CCTV alarms. Calipsa recognises the cause of the alarm, filtering out any that are not caused by human or vehicle movement to reduce false alarms by over 85%. Calipsa will also add an extra layer of intelligence to Cougar's existing high quality video monitoring solution.

Calipsa’s false alarm filter has helped us to reduce the alarm count from repetitive nuisance sites, while at the same time ensuring we maintain a high level of security for our clients. The system highlights to our operators those alarms that require attention and only discards nuisance alarms. Calipsa has integrated seamlessly with our monitoring platform meaning we can provide an even better service offering into our new and existing client base,” comments Dean Field, National Business Development Manager at Cougar Monitoring.

Tara Biglari, Business Development Manager at Calipsa, responded that she has been working closely with Cougar Monitoring to embed Calipsa into their monitoring facility. “The team at Cougar have been really forward-thinking and are dedicated to investing in the latest technology. We’re looking forward to supporting their growth in the CCTV monitoring space as they connect Calipsa to more sites.”
