The Calipsa Masterclass is back - and this year it’s global (and virtual!)

Following the success of our first in-person event in 2019, we’re taking the Calipsa Masterclass virtual for 2020! Join us online on Wednesday November 18th for what is shaping up to be a must-attend event for video monitoring and surveillance professionals.

During the course of the masterclass, we’ll be running a number of different sessions for you to choose from. You can attend the whole event or drop in and out of the sessions that interest you the most. We’ve tried to make the agenda inclusive for everyone, with a mix of industry insights, machine learning explanations and some Calipsa ‘how-to’s’.

This year's masterclass will cover topics including:

  • How technology and Covid-19 have impacted video monitoring in 2020
  • A deep dive into an area of machine learning
  • Best practice approaches to implementing Calipsa in monitoring stations

Hear from leading monitoring stations

Check out our agenda below to see details of the different sessions we'll be running. We've included the times of each session to help you plan your masterclass experience.

Speaker: Rashid Khan, CEO and Co-Founder @ Calipsa
Time: 7am PST / 10am EST / 3pm GMT
Duration: 25 minutes [the session will be followed by a 5 minute break]

Be the first to hear the results of our industry-first research into the video monitoring industry. Bringing together survey results from businesses around the world, the session will show how your business measures against your peers, the challenges and opportunities the industry faces, and the ways in which tech can move it forward. It’s been an unusual year, so we’ll also look at how the industry has responded to the pandemic, and what we can learn from it to become more resilient. We’ll combine all this insight with Calipsa’s proprietary data, to shed light on how false alarms have been managed with the help of AI.

Speaker: Boris Ploix, CTO and Co-Founder @ Calipsa
Time: 7:30am PST / 10:30am EST / 3:30pm GMT
Duration: 25 minutes [the session will be followed by a 5 minute break]

Artificial intelligence is the powerhouse transforming technology as we know it. Its capabilities have allowed for huge advances in technology and product development, but despite its obvious benefits is there a limit to what AI can do? What are the current capabilities of AI and what limitations should we be aware of? This talk will expose the current boundaries to AI (including the subsets of deep learning and machine learning), how AI in its current form is applied at Calipsa and what you can expect from the future of AI as it continues to develop.

Speakers: Warren Neuburger (CTO @ EyeQ Monitoring), Aleksei Bulavko (Research, Development and Production Manager @ Radius Security), Karl Walters (Managing Diector @ Remote Watch Monitoring) and Henrik Leth Egsgaard (Director @ Den Jyske Kontrolcentral)
Time: 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT
Duration: 45 minutes [the session will be followed by a 5 minute break]

Don't just take our word from it - hear from top monitoring stations in the US, UK, Canada and Denmark on how they utilise Calipsa in their control room. Listen to our panelists share their top tips for optimising your monitoring operations and some of the processes they follow in their own businesses. We'll also be discussing how each of our panelists uses Calipsa and the lessons they have learnt since implementing the technology. Email your questions or comments to hello@calipsa.io ahead of the Masterclass, or bring them to the Masterclass ready to share.

Speaker: Brian Baker (VP Americas), David Hall (Head of Machine Learning), Becca Harvey (Account Manager) and Goku Yogeswaran (Lead Customer Success Engineer)
Time: 8:50am PST / 11:50am EST / 4:50pm GMT
Duration: 30 minutes [the session will be followed by a 10 min closing address]

Are you wondering how Calipsa's technology actually works? Perhaps you've got a burning question about Calipsa that you haven't had the chance to ask? Whatever your question, this panel is your chance to get answers! We're bringing together Calipsa experts to give you the opportunity to pose any sales, technical or general questions about Calipsa and our platform. Email your questions or comments to hello@calipsa.io ahead of the Masterclass, or bring them to the Masterclass ready to share.
